The program places Bergen in a real-world application showing her skill and knowledge about mechanical engineering in a fun environment. Such knowledge otherwise would only be taught in a trade school type situation at a much later point. The program introduces our children to a variety of technical aspects which create interests that easily could turn into future career choices that otherwise might have been overlooked. Traditional trade school programs are not readily available in the US and the STREAM program helps much to fill in the gap.
