Wayne Nicolette founder and Executive Director created Gear Up Maryland in order to enable young people to turn their passion into a career as he did through 30 years of award winning Formula Ford race car driving and his work as CEO of Xibitz. Wayne’s personal experience of designing, repairing, and racing his 40-year old racing vehicle and creating a profitable exhibit design business is a testament to the foundation’s core principles. The scientific evidence showing hands on heuristic learning is clear and the need for this in our digital age is even greater.
